For almost ten years, our founder wanted to try pole and let the stories in her head get in the way: too old, not in good enough shape, almost 40 with stretch marks. When she finally walked into her first class, she was intimidated and unsure she belonged. What she found was so much more than a workout. She rediscovered confidence, resilience, and creativity, and a community that celebrated progress instead of perfection. Years of dedicated pole and dance training later, she opened Alchemy Pole & Dance in downtown Bellingham with one goal: a studio where everyone feels welcome regardless of age, body type, fitness level, gender, or experience, especially those who have never quite felt like they fit in.
